“ I raise up my voice—not so that I can shout, but so that those without a voice can be heard. … We cannot all succeed when half of us are held back. “

- Malala Yousafzai

SPIN (Sisterhood of Philanthropists Impacting Needs) was founded with the goal of empowering young women through philanthropy. We provide grants to organizations that work with marginalized women and adolescent girls, and we also offer leadership development opportunities and mentorship programs. SPIN is also committed to making a difference where it counts, by providing role models.

Role models can have a dramatic influence on whether or not young women pursue careers as opposed to general employment. In fact, research shows the number of girls interested in higher education almost doubles when they have role models (41%) compared to those who do not (26%). Girls with role models are also more passionate about pursuing careers with longevity and are 15% more likely able to imagine themselves working said career. There’s a lot of work to do, but it’s SPIN’s mission to push our women forward.
